How has being natural positively affected/changed aspects of your life besides your hair?
I have been letting go ever since I did the big chop. Letting go of a lot of western baggage / emotional and psychological trauma I've had just from lack of being truly "woke". I'd like to share that the natural hair movement I saw in Miami, last year at Art Basel, all the beautiful different types of natural hair styles inspired me to let go my straightened/ damaged her & embrace my natural hair. I was inspired by so many beautiful short natural styles as well as the many beautiful loc'd styles I saw. I was so excited to start fresh when I returned to NYC.
Name your top 3 hollistic hair/beauty products:
OMG! I'm not committed to any right now. Lol. I was in the beginning of my big chop but now that I'm locin' my hair it look like, Rasta Journey, lol, I use AS I Am co-washor Cantu Co-Wash & Curl Activator Lotion when my hair desperately needs moisture, may be once a week. I'm travelling home to Ethiopia tomorrow and I plan to find some locally made hair products as the women from my country have such beautiful curls and also locs.
