Meet Catherine Lantigua!
Where you from/ what's your Heritage?
My family is Dominican! I have Spanish, African, and Taino great grandparents.
How long have u been natural?
5 years
What does being natural mean to you? It is consciously choosing the 100% version of myself and truly perceiving myself to be beautiful inside and out.
How has being natural positively affected/changed aspects of your life besides your hair? I feel like I’ve joined an unspoken sisterhood. Nowadays all it takes is “I love your hair, what products do you use?” as an ice breaker and minutes later we’re exchanging numbers coordinating a coffee date!
Name your top 3 natural hair products:
Kinky Curly Knot Today, Eden Bodyworks Curl Styling Creme, and Eden Bodyworks Co-wash
What is your current passion/What drives you?
My passion is making an impact in our world via empowering women, children, and the disadvantaged (more specifically in D.R, and the Caribbean). What drives me every morning is finding the answers and opportunities to get my non-profit going along with learning how to become a kinder and productive member of society.
Do you have a favorite Quote/ What is it why?
“Be the change you want to see in the world” because I refuse to be one of those people that complain about how terrible things are, but aren’t actively trying to make it better. I believe that leading by example is one of the best methods of mobilization!
What does living "au naturel " mean to you?
To me it means living a pure and honest life
What is your favorite activity to do in South Florida?
I love going to art galleries/museums, amazing restaurants, and the free local events.
